Chromcraft Environmental Commitment
Sustainability, Recycling and Cradle to Cradle Practices
February 1, 2010

Environmental Summary Statement
As a USA Manufacturer based in Senatobia, MS, Chromcraft is committed to promoting sustainable work environments and business practices based on sound economics, environmental protection, social responsibility and incorporating the BIFMA Sustainability Guidelines into our practices. We will routinely update our practices, and we intend to make consistent, measurable progress toward these goals and will pursue them in all facets of our operations.

Soy Foam as of Fourth Quarter, 2009
The latest step in our commitment to promoting sustainable work environments is the incorporation of renewable raw materials into polyurethane foam by enlisting MCPU Polymer Engineering to 'green up' seating foam with soy-based Honey Bee™ polyol.

The new foam cushions comply with rigorous physical test standards demanded for contract seating applications and prove it is possible to produce environmentally friendly foam without sacrificing critical performance attributes. This single act of replacing a portion of petroleum-derived chemical with Honey Bee™ polyol allows Chromcraft to expand environmental efforts on many levels. MCPU's proprietary technology takes soy-bean oil to polyol in one clean, efficient step, saving energy and reducing the greenhouse effect. The end product is a consistent soy-polyol that works well with conventional urethane materials to produce high quality foams. The polyol contributes to Presidential initiatives for U.S. production and the American Recovery Act; its use also enables Chromcraft to make a positive impact on U.S. farming initiatives.

Chromcraft's new soy-foam seating offers ergonomic comfort, Chromcraft quality and makes an environmental statement as encouraged by LEEDS and GreenGuard standards. Both Chromcraft and MCPU Polymer Engineering will continue efforts to replace non-sustainable content with more renewable materials in the future.

GREENGUARD Certification as of December 31, 2008
Chromcraft was awarded GREENGUARD Certification for low emitting products and materials under the standards of the Institute on December 31, 2008.

Other Environmental Initiatives
Chromcraft makes every effort to reclaim and recycle all metal, aluminum and chrome throughout all of our facilities. We recycle all of our chipboard and use recycled materials in our packaging materials.

Chromcraft is committed to our environment. Detailed below are just a few of the many environmental initiatives Chromcraft is currently incorporated into the manufacturing process.

Cradle to Cradle Practices
Our Cradle to Cradle philosophy and practices provide us a tangible means of maintaining and adding products with environmentally-intelligent design and it helps our customers purchase and specify products that are pursuing a broader definition of quality. This equates to our use of environmentally safe, sustainable and healthy materials; design for material re-utilization such as recycling or composting; the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency; efficient use of water, maximum water quality associated with production; and instituting strategies for greater social responsibility.

Recycling and Sustainability Practices
The cold roll steel used to make the steel tubing for all table and chair frames is made from 99.7% recycled steel from the automotive and appliance industries.

Cardboard cartons are broken down and recycled in two ways.

First, cartons that we cannot reuse in house or through Supplier agreements for return and re-use, are broken down and stacked in racks on top of our regular scrap skid locations. A forklift Driver then comes around and collects the scrap cartons and delivers them to our carton compress where the cartons are crushed and banded. The banded cartons are then removed and stored until picked up by the Recycler.

Second, cartons are reusable through Supplier agreements. One of our local Suppliers and Chromcraft have a carton re-use agreement whereby Chromcraft breaks down the taped cartons and stores them in racks. Daily these cartons are gathered and stored. When the Supplier delivers raw materials to Chromcraft the reusable cartons are loaded on the delivery truck and returned to the Suppliers facility for reuse. When cartons are considered to be unusable then they are sent to our carton compress and bundled for resale to the recycler.

We also recycle our Plycraft Paper which is a laminated in house paper product. After lamination the panels are marked and band sawed into Plycraft backs, all offal that is unusable for other component parts is thrown into scrap skids. The skids are then delivered to our carton compress where it is press and banded into bundles along with the scrap recyclable carton materials.

Office paper, computer paper and other recyclable papers are collected at each office staff's desk in boxes and waste baskets. Daily the paper is collected by the clean-up crew and the office staff and dumped into Bigalow cardboard boxes. The boxes when full are then delivered to our carton recycle compress where it is bundled and stored for our Recycler to pick up.

Plastic materials from which we fabricate seat panels, arms and various other parts are also recycled. The offal from the fabricated parts is collected and ground into small pieces and stored in Bigalow boxes for recycling with our plastics Supplier.

Chromcraft has a state of the art water treatment facility for plating. All metal plating tanks in the plater have reverse counter flow rinses that are used for makeup water for their plating solution tanks, thus recycling the metal drag out.

All wastewater from the plater is treated onsite. Some of the treated water is reused on the plater as non-critical rinses. Some is discharged to the local POTW (Public Owned Treatment Works). The precipitated sludge is bagged and sent to metals recycling facilities for metals reclaim and disposal.

Total last year: 24,360 lbs

For wood coatings, Chromcraft is in possession of and complies with a Federal EPA Title V Air Permit. HAP's and VOC's have been reduced by using compliant VOC and HAP coatings and water-base coatings as required. Waste liquid paint is recycled by being fuel blended at a recycler.

For metal coatings Chromcraft uses non-hazardous powder paint. The powder that is not deposited on the parts is reclaimed and reused over again by the spray booths.
